Ayurveda Body Type

Ayurveda is the complete knowledge of life. It is derived from ancient India Philosophy. Based on the philosophy of Ayurveda, it say that all the matter in this universe are made of 5 elements: air, water, space, fire, and earth.  They are made by this 5 elements with different proportion, so that there are variable creation in the universe with different characteristic.

Prakriti is the body-mind constituent of human being. It is like a blue print of us that have fixed our main characteristic since we are born, and it will remain the same for our entire life. It have major impact in our physical characteristic, physiological process and emotional behavior. Prakriti is made up of different proportion of three main type of doshas: Vita, Pitta, Kapha. Dosha is the energy that govern our body mental and physical activity. The predominant main dosha will become our body type that influence our characteristic the most. There are some people who are dwidosha or tridosha, but it is rare.  Different body type has different needs to maintain the balance of their energy. Hence, everyone should manage their lifestyle, including food, activity, remedies etc., based on the needs of their body type to have a healthy life.

Qualities Cold, light, irregular, rough, quick, moving, changeable. Hot, light, intense, penetrating, pungent, sharp, acidic. Heavy, slow, solid, cold, soft, oily.
