Being in equilibrium allows us to feel our optimal best and perform to our maximum given capacity. One of the ways to achieve this is through a sensible diet. When our body feels good, it is easy for us to enjoy every moment intensely as our physical body is comfortable and free from aches and pains.
The normal PH value of the human body is 7.4, which is slightly alkaline. A alkaline body has more oxygen which helps the body to function better. However, a lot of food that is available in the market now which caters to time starved society is acidic in nature. This includes fast food and processed food which are available in an instant. A person whose body is acidic will feel like he/she is on a hangover all the time – sluggish, not alert, irritable. The cycle repeats again as the person lacks the energy to make a conscious effort on his choices.
Therefore, it is important to fuel our body with the right kind of food . For us students in the Yoga Teacher Training program, we’re doing a lot of conditioning exercises everyday, eating food that is rich in protein like eggs and meat will build and repair our body tissue faster enabling us to become stronger.
