The Body, The Mind & The Spirit

I began my yoga journey like most others, seeking a quiet space from the distractions of the hustle and bustle of city life. In yoga flow classes, I pushed my body beyond it’s physical limits and realised how much more I had to improve; humbling myself to the limitations of my body and keeping track of minuscule progress throughout the weeks and months.

Beyond that aspect, the spiritual lessons from a practice of yoga also attracted me. The philosophies of yoga gurus throughout the ages of this ancient practice provided some answers to questions of who we are, and where we came from. It is also a lesson in ancient Indian mythology, with parables that give us a glimpse into the beliefs of those that lived before our time.

My takeaway from the journey so far is of patience and acceptance – patient enough to keep going despite the slow progress as the body adapts of bends and folds, whilst learning to accept your progress and failures along this journey of life.
