Quality and Quantity of Sperm

Sperm health depends on various factors, including quantity, quality and movement.
Quantity: The semen discharged in a single ejaculation – contains more than 15 million sperm per milliliter.
Quantity: More sperm with a normal shape and structure, the more likely to be fertile.
Movement: To reach and penetrate an egg, sperm must move through a woman’s cervix, uterus and fallopian tubes. This is known as motility. Fertility of sperm depends on 40% of sperm movement.
Healthy sperm produced by:
• Healthy diet
• Maintain a healthy weight
• Manage Stress
• Physical exercise
• Stay cool – avoid tight underwear, avoid laptop computer directly on lap
• Avoid smoking
• Limit alcohol intake
• Stay clean of illegal drugs
Adopting healthy lifestyle practices promotes sperm fertility.
