Hydration and pregnancy

Hydration is always important, and during pregnancy those fluids are even more precious than usual.
You body needs water to form amniotic fluid, and flush out you
waste and toxins.
Drinking lots of fluids during pregnancy can work wonders, easing constipation, softens skin, decreasing risk of urinary tract infection, water retention and preterm labor.
It’s advised to drink at least 2 litres of water every day, if its hot or if you’ve been exercising you need more.
I know that thinking about drinking all that water make you grimace, but don’t worry , you can drink other fluids.
One of the best thing for you is coconut water.
It’s one of my favourite things to drink after exercise.
This clear liquid is full of potassium witch is important in maintaining fluid and electrolyte balance in you body’s calls.
Potassium is also important in sending nerve impulses, helping you muscles contract, and releasing energy from protein, fat,and carbohydrates.
Since you blood volume expands by up to 50 percent during pregnancy, you’ll need slightly more electrolytes to keep the extra fluid in the right chemical balance.
If you suffer from leg cramps during pregnancy, you might take a look at your potassium intake, and that’s why drinking fresh coconut water is good for you. Also if you have sweet-tooth you might enjoy the soft coconut flesh that deposit along the walls of the coconut.
Coconut water also contains antioxidants and magnesium, both important in cells development.
