Healthy Body, Healthy Mind?

Did you know that an average person has almost 70,000 thoughts a day? The sad thing is that 99% of them are the exact same thoughts you had yesterday. So, just as getting rid of toxins in our body is very important, so is getting rid of all your toxic thoughts that hold you back from achieving what you want in your life. What are your most toxic thoughts? Are they your beliefs about what you can achieve and what you can’t? Are they parts of your self talk which constantly put you down?

By just becoming aware of these thoughts, you can start to catch them when they come up in your everyday life and that alone will begin to take away a lot of their control over you.

The first step to getting rid of those toxic thoughts is simply AWARENESS. Besides being aware of your body, you have to be aware of which thoughts and beliefs are holding you back. Because when you lose awareness, you become disintegrated. Yoga is not just about exercising and having a healthy body. It is a practice of how to “still” your mind and achieving union of your body, mind and soul.

And the first step to yoga, is not about any external factors, it is about preparing your mind, accepting who you are and accepting your imperfections. Misery comes when you cannot accept. The moment you can accept the fact, you will not feel miserable. And to do that, it all boils down to the word “AWARENESS”.

Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.
